Sales Development Representative

You're the next great salesperson, and you're eager for your chance to shine.

While it’s clear that you’re a hustler, you’re also an incredibly smart and technically-minded person. You readily internalize technical concepts and can explain them to any audience, even your grandparents.

Even though you’re comfortable starting off as an SDR, you’re by no means comfortable generating leads for others for the rest of your life. This is your opportunity to learn from a seasoned team and prove that you’re a closer.

TapFwd is an incredibly fast-growing, early-stage startup. You will gain unparalleled visibility into what it takes to build a world-class company from the very beginning. You will be one of our first sales hires, and while that comes with immense responsibilities and high expectations, the upside is even higher.

Requirements
  • Over 6 months of SDR experience and the desire to be an AE.
  • Book smart and street smart (a degree from a top school is a big plus).
  • Relentless. You will be on the phone, emailing, and in meetings constantly.
  • Impeccable written communication skills. As an ambassador of the TapFwd brand, you can’t afford to make mistakes.
  • Organized and methodical. You easily manage hundreds of tasks at once and nothing ever slips through the cracks.
  • Unparalleled presentation skills. Steve Jobs has nothing on you.
  • An all around nice person who wants to work with other nice people.
Bonus Points
  • Entrepreneurial blood. We’d love it if TapFwd were a stepping stone on the path toward starting your own company.

Marketing

In high school, you didn't just write for the school paper, you were the editor-in-chief. As an adult, you're as ambitious and diligent as ever. As you read this post, you already have ideas for how to improve it.

Storytelling isn't just a skill that you possess, it's a passion. You thrive on taking extremely technical concepts and spinning them into clear and concise messages that grab the attention of your audience, regardless of the medium.

While there's no doubt that you must be incredible at creating cohesive marketing content, this job is about a lot more than that. You’ll be expected to own our marketing strategy, understand the relationship between revenue targets and marketing KPIs, and determine the highest impact marketing channels to execute in accordingly.

TapFwd is an incredibly fast-growing early-stage startup and you will be the first marketing hire. This is a rare opportunity: the chance to shape the market’s perception of a (soon to be world renowned) company from the very beginning.

Requirements
  • 2-6 years of experience marketing a technical product.
  • Book smart and street smart (a liberal arts degree from a top school is a plus).
  • Natural-born storyteller. You have an unmatched ability to distill complicated technical matters into a message that is both easily understood and engaging.
  • Impeccable written communication skills. You will be the voice of TapFwd and must not take this responsibility lightly.
  • Comfortable writing for any medium, whether it’s a press release, powerpoint presentation, web copy, one-pager, white paper, etc.
  • Incredible collaborator - you don't care about being right, you care about figuring out what is right to do.
  • Innate early-stage startup hustle. Putting on events, pitching stories to the NY Times, getting us on stage at the next big mobile conference... nothing is beyond your reach.
  • An all around nice person who wants to work with other nice people. No jerks allowed.
  • Excited to work in downtown San Francisco.

Full-Stack Engineer

You're a generalist in the true sense of the word. You don't know what challenges tomorrow may bring, but you're happy to hack away at them - from high performance back-end applications to sophisticated web apps.

You love the uncertainty and ownership that comes with working at an early stage startup. If you need someone to hand you a well-packaged engineering puzzle, then this job isn't for you - you'll see projects through from concept to production to iteration. Here's what a typical week might look like for you:

  • Monday: Make some changes to our data processing algorithms in order to improve the accuracy of our data. We process trillions of data points about billions of mobile devices every day.
  • Tuesday: Crunch some numbers. We have terabytes of data that we need to comb through on a regular basis.
  • Wednesday: Build some new admin tools. We have a complex web app that we use internally for analysis and configuration.
  • Thursday: We just partnered with another data provider. Time to ingest and make sense of billions of data points about millions of mobile devices.
  • Friday: Just got some mockups back from the design team - time to make some changes to the website.
Requirements
  • Master of at least one scripting language (e.g., Ruby, Python, etc.) and at least one compiled language (e.g., Java, C/C++). Bonus points for Java and Ruby experience.
  • CS degree from a top school (or equivalent experience and talent). A strong background in CS fundamentals is a must for this position.
  • An appreciation for the delicate balance between expediency and elegance. You're a detail-oriented perfectionist who understands that sometimes "perfect is the enemy of good."
  • You must be incredibly smart and a fantastic engineer. Bonus points if your friends have ever described you as a "beast."
  • An all-around nice person who wants to surround themselves with other nice people. No jerks allowed.
  • Excited to work in downtown San Francisco. We will relocate you if necessary.
Bonus Points
  • Hadoop/big data experience.
  • Experience building high-performance, reliable distributed systems.
  • Entrepreneurial blood. We’d love it if TapFwd were a stepping stone on the path toward starting your own company.

Back-End Engineer

You're a master of high-throughput, low latency, distributed systems. You don't get out of bed for less than a terabyte of data, and you eat a billion queries for breakfast. You're a performance-obsessed data crunching machine, but you also understand when it makes sense to build the perfectly scalable theoretically beautiful solution, and when it makes sense to hack something together that will get us through the next few weeks.

We process hundreds of billions of data points on billions of mobile devices every day, but we've barely begun to scratch the surface of this data's true potential. Our challenge is to harness the power of this data to drive a wide variety of sophisticated mobile marketing use cases, all in an ever-growing highly-available high-performance environment.

While this may sound like a specialized position, we're a small startup - in order to move fast enough, we must all be generalists. We don't know what tomorrow will bring, but we know that it will certainly be different from today. We need to build systems for massive scale that can take us into the future, but we must also build with the understanding that we're in the business of evolving very quickly.

Requirements
  • Master of at least one scripting language (e.g., Ruby, Python, etc.) and at least one compiled language (e.g., Java, C/C++). Bonus points for Java and Ruby experience.
